First, Last, and the Ever After Party
The 50th Plus - a very brief history
…
This ‘excited and alive’ poem, to a Miss Julie Petullo, was the first and last time I ever sent any work out to publishers. Ever. It placed 28th out of 5000+ entries in the Judson Jerome Poet Corner contest in the Writers Magazine in 1972, or ‘73.
I self-published it in ‘74. The party continues.
And, lest I forget to mention, in 2024, and in honor of my 50th self-publishing anniversary, I created a coloring book, for my 90 year old mother, featuring my own hand-drawn scritchy doodles.
That can be found with my other Amazon books at the link: https://www.amazon.com/author/davidlwhite
My first book was set in my own hand; a grapho-analysts puzzle book. The coloring-book outline doodles are also hand drawn.
The bonus of the most recent hand done master was a minor epiphany into the expanded ideas of trash.
The additional images indicate the EverAfterParty.
